Anny Guitar on the Global Success of “Gimme Dat” & Working with Ayra Starr, Wizkid, and Elizabeth Music Group
In the ever-evolving world of Afrobeats and global music, one name steadily rising through the ranks is Anny Guitar—a talented producer, artist, and guitarist whose distinct feel and tone have helped shape some of the most infectious records of the past few years. I had the pleasure of sitting down with him to talk about his creative process, the success of “Gimme Dat,” his relationship with Elizabeth Music Group, and what’s next in his journey.
“Gimme Dat” and the Power of the Guitar
The breakout hit “Gimme Dat” by Ayra Starr and Wizkid just crossed 20 million streams on Spotify, marking a milestone not just for the artists involved, but also for the behind-the-scenes creators like Anny Guitar who shaped its sonic world.
“I recorded electric guitar on the song Gimme Dat,” he tells me. “My guitars gave the song an unending vibe that you can't resist but move your body while listening. It also filled gaps between those beautiful chord progressions.”
It’s that subtle magic—what you feel before you even know what you're hearing—that sets his work apart. Anny has a knack for blending emotion with musicianship, making his contributions essential rather than decorative.
Leading With Feeling
When asked how he approaches the balance between technical prowess and emotional instinct in production, Anny doesn’t hesitate:
“When I'm producing a track, I concentrate more on the pure feelings first. Once I’ve gotten that, then the technical part comes in.”
This focus on vibe-first creation is likely one reason his music connects so deeply—he’s not just making sounds, he’s making people feel.
Success, Setbacks, and Staying the Course
While “Gimme Dat” marks a high point, Anny is candid about the realities of the industry.
“It feels good and encouraging to do more records of such standard,” he says of the 20 million stream milestone.
“But the most unexpected challenge in my journey as a producer is giving my best in a particular project and at the end, you don't get your credit or royalties. It serves as a setback and can really discourage you from pushing forward.”
It’s a real and all-too-common issue in music, but one Anny is committed to navigating with resilience.

The Setup and the Mission
Anny’s studio setup reflects both mobility and functionality: KRK Rokit5 monitors, Apple laptop, M-Audio soundcard, and a RØDE microphone—tools that let him produce wherever the vibe takes him.
But beyond the gear, what really drives him is the mission of reaching people through music—and helping others do the same.
“My advice to young producers is: first, believe in yourself. Update yourself with new styles, music software, and packs. But most importantly—consistency and patience.”
Why He Chose EMG
In a music industry that often overlooks the backbone contributors, Anny made a strategic choice when it came to his publishing.
“I chose to sign with Elizabeth Music Group because they’re experienced, have good structures, and their relationship with artists/creators is 100%,” he says.
“They also have more opportunities aside from publishing.”
That includes support with sync licensing and other music business opportunities—key areas that are often untapped by emerging producers.
What’s Next
The future is looking bright for Anny Guitar. He’s currently working on a major project set to release in September 2025, and he’s also gearing up to drop a new single titled “NOTHING” at the end of August.
But perhaps the most fulfilling part of the journey so far?
“My proudest moment as a musician is getting recognized by musicians all over the world through my record Gimme Dat with Ayra Starr ft. Wizkid.”
With his talent, humility, and work ethic, it’s safe to say that Anny Guitar is just getting started—and we’ll be hearing a lot more from him in the global music space.
