Can Elizabeth Music Group Publishing help if some of my older songs were released before I signed?
Yes. Elizabeth Music Group Publishing can represent back-catalog compositions as part of a publishing relationship, subject to the rights you control and the terms of your agreement. Older releases can be especially important because publishing income does not disappear simply because a song is no longer new. A song may continue generating performance, mechanical, digital, international, YouTube, live-performance, or other publishing royalties long after release.
During onboarding, Elizabeth Music Group Publishing gathers the writer information, IPI details, song metadata, ownership splits, and other information needed to organize a catalog. The team can also research a creator’s catalog to identify works that may be missing, incorrectly registered, or not fully accounted for. When a qualifying work is discovered, the ownership and splits need to be confirmed before it can be added and registered appropriately.
Historical collection depends on factors such as the source of the royalty, applicable claim periods, existing registrations, prior representation, territory, and whether the royalties are still available. For that reason, Elizabeth Music Group Publishing does not guarantee that every historical royalty can be recovered. The goal is to put eligible catalog rights into a stronger registration and collection system while also pursuing available historical income where appropriate.
